Walking away isn't in my nature. It never has been; it never will. The worst fights I ever got in growing up were from defending animals from boys who thought it was funny to torment them. When I was in first grade, I kicked a third grade boy's ass so bad for killing a butterfly in front of me that it took three teachers to pull me off of him. All I really remember about it was seeing red at the time and being out for blood.
Some of the kids I stood up for in high school didn't like it so much. I guess it hurt their pride being boys stood up for by a girl, but honestly, I didn't care about that. I just wanted the people doing it knowing they couldn't get away with it. Now that I'm an adult, I'm far more likely to try to talk someone down from being an ass than getting physical, but I still don't walk away from situations like that.
